Congratulations on the arrival of your baby! We understand that the postnatal period is a time of immense joy and adjustment, and we are thrilled to welcome you to our postnatal course, designed to guide you through this transformative time.
What to expect
This course provides you with information on many health-related topics, catering specifically to postnatal needs. Our aim is to empower you with knowledge, support and resources so that you can navigate the postnatal period with confidence and ease. Some of the collections and topics you will encounter are:
- Pelvic health: This collection includes guidance on post-birth vaginal care, pelvic floor exercises, and when to seek help for issues like incontinence. Myra, co-founder of Squeezy and pelvic health physiotherapist, takes you through the importance of pelvic floor muscle exercises after childbirth and how to do them.
- Mental wellbeing: The extensive content by psychotherapists Nada and Jerilee explores navigating identity shifts, cross-cultural values and loneliness, as well as postnatal depression, returning to work and relationships.
- Sleep: Among other things, this content provides guidance on new sleeping patterns, night-time feeding and postnatal insomnia.
- Sexual health: The topics covered here include fertility and sex.
- C-section recovery: If you have had a C-section, we have a collection dedicated to C-section recovery. This includes what to expect during your recovery, scar therapy, the emotional impact, and caring for your scar. This content was created in partnership with women’s health physiotherapist and scar therapist, Hannah, and Scarban.
- Infant care: There are numerous articles offering practical advice on issues including breastfeeding, bottle feeding and newborn health checks.
Flexible content structure
The content is divided into themed collections, offering a structured and bite-sized approach. You have the flexibility to progress through the content in your own order and at your own pace – whether you choose to delve into a new topic each day or take more time to absorb the information is entirely up to you.
Diverse content formats
The course includes a blend of written and video content: you can explore detailed articles, watch videos led by experts, and gain insights from healthcare professionals. What’s more, there are guided yoga classes and postnatal-specific workout plans and demonstrations.
Health warning
While the course aims to provide comprehensive information, it’s crucial to note that every woman’s postnatal journey is unique. We strongly advise you to maintain regular communication with your midwife or GP throughout your postnatal period. If you encounter any unusual symptoms, concerns, or have specific health-related queries, seeking professional guidance is paramount.
Confidence through information
Our overarching goal is to empower you with the knowledge and support you need to navigate the postnatal period with confidence. Whether or not you are a first-time mum, “Postnatal Care: Nurturing the New Mum” is here to guide you through the joys and challenges you may experience in the first year after childbirth.
